The Seven Traits of Healthy People

The Seven Traits of Healthy People

Of all the people I have known throughout my life, the healthiest ones have these seven essential traits.

1. Healthy people know they are ultimately responsible for their own health.

The worlds healthiest people know that it is a dangerous time to get caught in our modern healthcare system because it is a ‘for profit’system. They realize that today’s doctors are not taught to heal them using proper nutrition and holistic healing.

They know modern medicine it not about wellness, it is about maximizing shareholders profit. This takes the responsibility of their health and puts it squarely back on their shoulders.

“The overuse of prescription drugs provides a vacation from personal responsibility.”  ~ Bruce Lipton

2. Healthy people know that what they eat and drink are critical choices when it comes to their health.

They almost never overeat and give gratitude for the food they eat.

“Don’t eat anything your great-great grandmother wouldn’t recognize as food”   ~ Michael Pollan

They stay far away from the drive through. Junk food, fast food, processed food and soda are not even on their radar. They know this type of food hurts them, slows them down, causes disease, mental fatigue, obesity, heart disease, cancer and early death.

“Tell me what you eat, and I will tell you who you are.”                  ~ Brillat-Savarin

Healthy people take the time to cook most of their meals at home. They eat as fresh and close to Mother Nature as they can. They realize that when they make food and share it with people they love - there is high vibration and energy in the food and it raises joy and nutritional value.

3. Healthy people pay attention to their relationships, the people they surround themselves with and they focus on how much love they have in their lives.

“It is better to be healthy alone than sick with someone else.”     ~ Phil McGraw

They know when they spend their time with people who have bad habits, the likelihood of falling into those habits is very high. So, they fiercely and consciously protect themselves from letting others drag them down.
Even family members. They are kind but will not sacrifice themselves simply because they do not want to hurt someone’s feelings.

4. Healthy people know that their mindset and belief systems are determining factors of true health.

They are constant learners who understand they live in the best time ever to be alive. They are not afraid to ask questions and make changes to their current thought processes.

“Our beliefs control our bodies, our minds, and thus our lives. We are not the victims of our genes, but masters of our fates, able to create lives overflowing with peace, happiness and love.” ~ Bruce Lipton

They know they have access to incredible amounts of information and are willing to break out of old belief systems that no longer serve them.

5. Healthy people don't watch news.

Healthy people do not watch the news and do not spend their time mindlessly watching TV. They do not have their head in the sand and know what goes on in the world so that they can make informed decisions, but they do not spend their time watching and reading the news. Skimming the headlines keeps them up to date on what goes on in the world without the hours and hours of relentless gory details and discussions of doom and gloom.

They know the human brain is not designed for the constant bombardment of so much negativity.

Healthy people do not spend the majority of their free time watching television. They are actively engaged in spending time with their family and friends, reading books, learning new things and engaging in activities that improve their lives.

6. Healthy people strategically and consistently use supplements to enhance and protect their health.

They supplement their diet with the proper nutrients. They research and make the right choices for themselves. They listen to their intuition.

They know that most farming techniques utilize fertilizers that actually deplete the soil of essential nutrients and disrupts the plants growing process so that it cannot form essential vitamins and minerals.

They know that the way food is processed today means that it’s virtually impossible to get all the nutrients their body needs from food alone and that nutritional supplements are increasingly important.

They know they must supplement because exercise increases nutrient needs and their body’s ability to absorb nutrients from food decreases as they age.

Healthy people know that taking high quality supplements can give them health and longevity.

7. Healthy people make exercise a priority.

Healthy people know when they stop moving, they literally start dying. They know when they make exercise and movement a part of their daily lives everything gets better. Sleep, sex, work, play.

They know the issues that come with lack of movement. Constipation, lack of circulation, brain fog, skin problems, loss of muscle, loss of flexibility and early death just to name a few.

“Those who think they have no time for exercise will sooner or later have to find time for illness.”                                                    ~ Edward Stanley

Healthy people know that climbing a mountain, swimming laps and pumping iron can leave them sweaty and happy to be alive in their beautiful physical body. They love to move and feel their heart pump. They do not want to be trapped in a body that will not perform for them.

“To enjoy the glow of good health, you must exercise.                  ~ Gene Tunney

Now is the time to realize that YOU have control of your health.

It is not your doctors job. It is not your spouses’ job. It is YOUR job.

Do you really want to be healthy?

Do you really want to live pain and disease free?

Or is it just nice to talk about it and think it’s for other people, not you?

In conclusion, this brilliant quote from Hugh Jackman.

“There comes a certain point in life when you have to stop blaming other people for how you feel or the misfortunes in your life. You can’t go through life obsessing about what might have been.” ~ Hugh Jackman
