I Wanted a BrainGlow for My Body
I was in my early 50's when I formulated Endurance.
By then, I had been active pretty much my entire life. I’d spent years in the gym, taught fitness classes, worked as a personal trainer, owned my own gym at one point, and hiking on the weekends was something I did for fun.
Movement had always been part of who I was.
And honestly, I think some of that started very young because I was paying attention.
I watched my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and even cousins get older. I watched what happened over the decades when physical fitness wasn’t made a priority.
Somewhere along the way I understood something that has stayed with me ever since:
Our choices compound.
The things we do at 20 matter at 40.
What we do at 40 matters at 60.
And what we do consistently, even the little things, has a funny way of eventually showing up in the body.
I’ve always been pretty proactive about my health because of that.
By the time I reached 50, I realized I was in a much smaller group than I would have expected. I still had a lot of vitality. I was still exercising, still hiking, still using my body and expecting quite a bit from it.
But I was also heading into perimenopause.
And I could feel things changing.
My strength wasn’t quite the same. My endurance wasn’t quite the same. My recovery wasn’t quite the same.
Nothing dramatic.
Just enough that I noticed.
Around this same time, I had already formulated BrainGlow, one of the first products under my Jane Health brand, and I was taking it myself.
I loved what it was doing for me.
I could feel the difference in my mental clarity, focus and energy. My brain felt switched on.
Then I became friends with a fitness influencer who had a huge social media following. He was about 20 years younger than me, extremely active, and he had started taking BrainGlow too.
He loved it.
One day we were talking about it and I remember telling him something along the lines of: “I want to formulate something that gives my body the same kind of endurance and stamina that BrainGlow gives my brain.”
And that conversation started the whole thing.
He was actually the person who turned me on to Cordyceps mushrooms.
Once I started digging into Cordyceps, I was fascinated.
Here was a mushroom with this incredible traditional reputation surrounding vitality, stamina and physical resilience, along with modern interest in exercise performance, fatigue and the way the body produces and uses energy.
I knew pretty quickly that Cordyceps belonged in the formula.
But intuitively, I wanted another mushroom with it.
So I kept researching.
And Reishi showed up.
That one immediately made sense to me.
Reishi brought something Cordyceps didn’t. Instead of simply thinking about physical output, now I was also thinking about adaptation and resilience, the ability of the body to handle what we ask of it.
Cordyceps and Reishi felt like they belonged together.
After that, I really didn’t have to research very far.
My years working with herbs and the human body started filling in the rest.
Beet Root jumped into my awareness pretty quickly.
Beets have this wonderful relationship with nitric oxide in the body, which is one of the reasons they became so interesting in the exercise world. Nitric oxide helps support blood flow, which matters when muscles are working and asking for oxygen.
That was an easy yes.
And then came Yerba Mate.
Another easy yes.
Yerba Mate has a long history of use for energy, alertness and stamina, and it naturally contains caffeine.
And I actually wanted that little bit of naturally occurring caffeine in there.
Not enough to make the formula all about stimulation. Just enough to give it some lift.
At that point, I remember feeling like I should stop.
That’s something I’ve learned about formulating over the years. More herbs don’t automatically make a better formula.
Sometimes you keep researching because something still feels unfinished.
And sometimes you look at what’s in front of you and think:
Nope. That’s it. Don’t mess with it.
Endurance felt like that.
Cordyceps.
Reishi.
Beet Root.
Yerba Mate.
Four ingredients. Clean and light.
One of the things I love about this formula is that those four ingredients aren't all trying to do the same thing.
Cordyceps brings the stamina and vitality piece.
Reishi brings resilience and adaptation.
Beet Root brings the blood-flow and oxygen-delivery conversation.
And Yerba Mate brings alertness, energy and that little bit of natural lift.
It wasn’t supposed to be another “energy” product.
Because there's a difference between energy and endurance.
Energy gets you moving.
Endurance helps you keep going.
And in my early 50's, that was what I was interested in.
I wasn’t trying to be 25 again.
I didn't want to pretend my body wasn't changing, either.
I wanted to keep hiking. Keep lifting. Keep moving. Keep challenging my body.
Keep doing the things that made me feel strong and alive.
And I wanted to give that body some additional support while I did it.
There was something else happening while I formulated Endurance that’s harder for me to put into scientific language.
I've told you before that I believe ideas come to us.
Sometimes I think they come from our own knowledge and experience.
Sometimes they come through another person, like a younger friend casually telling me, “You need to look at Cordyceps.”
And sometimes I believe they come from somewhere we can't see.
I believe in God. I believe in Source consciousness. And I believe my dad still nudges and inspires me from the other side.
I don't always need to know which one I'm hearing.
I've just gotten better at listening.
And this formula came together fast.
One conversation led me to Cordyceps. Cordyceps led me to Reishi. Then my own knowledge of plants brought Beet Root and Yerba Mate forward almost immediately.
Four ingredients.
And that feeling I’ve learned to trust:
There it is.
That was about 13 years ago.
And I'm still taking Endurance.
Because I'm obviously not in my 50's anymore.
My body has continued to change, and so has what I ask of it. But my philosophy really hasn't.
I don't exercise because I'm trying to stop the clock.
I exercise because I want to use this body for as long as I possibly can.
I want strength and stamina.
I want to hike and I want to carry my own stuff.
I want to keep saying yes when life asks something physical of me.
Because those choices still compound and I'm still making them.
I don't know exactly what my body will ask of me 10 or 20 years from now.
None of us do.
But I do know this: I want to meet those years with as much strength, stamina and vitality as I can.
And I believe the things I do today are helping build the body that will carry me into them.
Stay grounded and growing!

You don't have to be an athlete to want more endurance. Maybe it's the gym or a long hike. Maybe it's working in the yard, traveling, keeping up with your kids or grandkids, or simply getting through a physically demanding day without feeling like you've emptied the tank. I still work out every day, and Endurance is what I take before I head into my workout. It gives me that extra stamina and energy I was looking for when I created it all those years ago.
That's what I created Endurance for.
Four ingredients, Cordyceps, Reishi, Beet Root and Yerba Mate, in a simple capsule formula designed for stamina, resilience, circulation and natural energy.
Don't wait until you've lost your vitality to start thinking about preserving it. The choices we make today really do compound.
